Hi everyone. I hope it's okay that I'm posting here. I found your website through a membership card for ccgtcc found in my father's casino chip collection.
My father, Bruce Kay, passed away about 1.5 years ago. I have no idea how active (if at all) he was on this site, but like I said, I found a membership card and thought this would be the best place to reach out. I don't know if this is appropriate or ethical, so please forgive me if I'm overstepping rules.
My father was an avid casino chip collector. I have his chip collection in my home right now (NYC/Long Island area) and I'm looking for someone in the area who is trustworthy, honest, and reputable to take a look at the collection and appraise it / help me sell individual chips that are worth something / tell me what's "worthless" and allow my kids to keep them and play with them, which they are dying to do!!
I have taken pictures of the collection (not great pix, but just to give someone an idea of what my dad had -- I can certainly have close-ups or more professional pix taken) -- but ideally, I'd like to physically bring the collection to someone who will take this seriously, not rip me off, and help. From what I can estimate, there are 1500+ chips, no duplicates, mostly from Atlantic City, Las Vegas, and Caribbean, but my parents were world-travelers and collected casino chips everywhere they went.
I KNOW FOR A FACT THERE ARE VALUABLE COLLECTIBLES IN THIS COLLECTION, as my father often talked about its worth.
Is there anyone willing to take on this project?
Please reply here or e-mail me privately.
Thank you --- Joanna Silberman - jojokay@optonline.net
