During their lifetime TR King used at least 3 different versions of each mold (probably because they wore out).
I think only the latest version of each had cross hatching.

If you look at the CPC molds now, you get the same 'effect' with the FDL mold vs every other mold.
Not sure why the change was ever made though other than perhaps to make chips stack better.
