Don't forget that if you visit LV regularly you need a casino host. Remember that the casino is there to make money off your gambling. The hotel cost is incidental. If you have a player's card, visit regularly, and play a few hundred per trip a host is essential to get the type of room you want and preferably free. The amount of the room fee that is called "Resort Fee" is not relevant as you will likely be comped by your host and will pay nothing. You will likely also get free meals and anything you charge to your room will be comped.
If you are playing only a few dollars a trip and have no host, you probably shouldn't be staying and playing on the LV Strip. There are lots of casinos with less expensive rooms that you should be paying for and playing at. Some of the less expensive places in LV will even assign you a host and at least a part of what you would otherwise pay for will likely be comped. And remember, lots of places have common ownership and your host will be able to comp you if you stay and play in any of the hotels with the same name and player's card.
