Rich, I remember the Landmark sitting vacant after it was constructed in the sixties ('66-'67).
It was a pretty eerie sight-I remember poking around the property trying to see inside. The only
thing lit up was a large FC (Frank Carroll) on top of the building where the large L would
eventually be. It's interesting that the FM tokens (50 cent, $1, $2, and $5) were all dated 1967
even tho the place didn't open until 1969. I heard somewhere that the De Ville casino across
the street was built with excess material ordered for the Landmark (some kind of scam I guess).
