I agree with Pete, a ride to Virginia City is well worth the trip.

Another great place to see is Lake Tahoe. Take Lakeshore Blvd along the Nevada side of the lake with casinos in Crystal Bay, Incline Village and South Tahoe. Beautiful drives to and from Lake Tahoe are Kingsbury Grade from Gardenerville to South Tahoe and Mt Rose Highway from Reno to Crystal Bay and Incline Village.
