I went back thru the archives, the threads on this chip were in 2007. Unfortunately, the photos of the chip are no longer accessible,
and I will post new photos of it when I figure out how.
I did a fair amount of detective work trying to track the chip down. I spoke to the Director of Licensing at Penthouse, as well as
Bob Guccione's personal legal counsel, I remember they were very helpful, but could not figure out where they were from.
The original collector did have a handful of European chips in the collection, and Penthouse did have 3 casinos there, but
that does not square with the $1 denomination. Also, there was not a single other chip in the collection that came from anywhere else but a casino,
so some sort of fantasy or home-game poker chip didn't make a lot of sense either.
Gene Trimble felt that the chip was sold by Langworthy in Vegas, or possibly WICO after the buy-out, but there were no records from either.
That is where I checked out---and it sits in the "cold-case" file to this day!
