I may try the longer handling promise. I had already raised everything to 2 days when I needed more time due to my travel schedule. That already disqualified me for the 20% discount given to best sellers, so I might as well build more time into the listings and eliminated the defects. (I still mail almost everything same day or next day - I only take longer when I travel)

Ebay has a B.S. explanation that if the buyer says the item arrived in time we won't be graded down for time, but the vast majority of buyers do not provide feedback so this is a hollow promise.
