A fellow collector asked me about Rio Roulettes and in going thru my collection to provide him with all the info I had on these chips I found some interesting info (at least to an avid Roulette collector) that I thought I would share here on the Chip Board with everyone.
Shown below are scans of the various Styles (Series) of Roulette chips that have been used over the years at the Rio Casino in Las Vegas. I tried to put the chips in probable chronological order of use but I am not positive of the exact order in which they were in play. The chips shown and documented are from my collection and other info. I believe the listings of these chips in TCR and the Chip Guide needs to be reviewed and updated to reflect the info presented in this post.
There are still a lot of Roulette chips from the Rio that are not shown in these scans. As you can see some of these chips are pretty scarce and I only have 2 or 3 chips from some Series that probably had 30 or 40 different chips !!
If you have any chips not shown or additional info, comments, questions, etc.- please post it here for everyone to see.
Take care,
"Mr. Roulette"
These chips are "Odd' because they are H&C Chips but they have Las Vegas, NV on them. The next Series of chips are Roulette Mold but Don't have Las Vegas on them. I wonder why they would switch back and forth with
the H&C and Roulette Mold and with and without Las Vegas. I would assume that the H&C Mold chips were used first and then the switch was made to Roulette Mold. But who knows for sure ??
