Sorry, just getting back to this.
The Galveston Turf that you are talking about opened before 1933.
Here is the problem, a lot of the clubs going by "Turf Club" didn't exactly have well publicized "GRAND OPENINGS". And although I don't know the answer, I would venture to guess there were many, maybe hundreds of "Turf Clubs" opening in 1933. I'm not kidding when I say EVERY town had a Turf Club/Room/Bar/Restaurant/etc. Every one! Just pick one year and they are going in and out of business all the time.
Now, you COULD probably cut that down quite a bit if you knew more about the place. Most "Turf" establishments were handbook only, meaning they probably wouldn't have chips. Those that did were probably smaller games that didn't use fancy crest & seal chips (cash or cheap chips). There is probably a MUCH smaller number of clubs that opened in 1933, had table games, and were big enough to afford fancy chips.
Where those clubs are, I'm not sure, but I would be willing to bet there is more than a few.
