I’m sure this isn’t a revolation to anyone who collects illegals, but there was a “Turf Club” in EVERY town in America during the 1930-50s, usually multiple ones.

I have that chip too and mine came out of Indiana. I’m not saying the chip was used there, but that’s where it migrated in the 80 years since being used.

Believe me, if there was even a sniff of someone from down here thinking that was Galveston, someone would have made a case for it. If a mess of those chips were found there with other Maceo’s Turf stuff, I would be more inclined to believe it. But one chip? Tough sell.
