It was a dark and stormy night. Well, night, so DUH, dark. Not stormy, so much as a heavy almost foggy mist falling so fast that you had to keep the wipers on high, even though there was not that much water involved. Navigating San Diego's freeways takes a bit of doing for the tourist on a bright sunny day. Midnight in the mist was ever so fun.
So anyway, I get to the casino (after driving right past it and having to make a U-ey) Checked out the place riding my scooter all around. Pleasing decor, friendly people for the most part. I settled in at a Fortune Pai Gow table. $10 min bet, not bad. Couple of bucks on the Fortune bet and who knows what else. They play Pai Gow differently here than the way I was brought up on it. Jokers count as any card, not just Aces, Straights and Flushes. Wonderful! I've got Queen Joker + misc junk for my high hand and a pair of dueces low. Not looking too bad. Dealers hand was also 2 pair: Kings and Jacks. Taking my harvested chips and running fast ( as did another player at the table) I rode over to the cashier to turn in the extras that were not going home with me.
He was not busy and seemed bored. I was able to start a conversation with him, and he sold me other chips that I'd not gotten from the table. (a $2 and a $10) He went through several chips in his racks and apologized for the condition: played quite a bit. I told him I was happy to have them anyway. Thank You! I asked if any commons or G.O. or other goodies that might be laying around. He told me of $20 chips that they'd ordered but not used much that were locked up in the vault, but no other special chips. We kept talking and I mentioned the MOGH and the ChipGuide. He went back to the cupboard and asked were there pictures of these in the ChipGuide.
So I quicky snapped the some pictures. I guess he was not worried about a guy riding a scooter making off with the chips from his counter. This was the first time I've been able to engage a cashier in a conversation. Almost worth the loss at the Pai Gow (~buzz~ Not!) but a fun midnight trip nontheless.
Steve
P.S. I've submitted them to the ChipGuide!

This accounting of a harvest is very special to me. This casino is about 25 miles from where yours truly spent his childhood years. So it meant I was making a trip to see my family and friends in Northern Montana. This I believe was the second trip to this casino. And it was the typical summer day in northern MT, windy and partly cloudy.
Nancy and I both were ready for a rest stop break, after driving from Bozeman to Helena to Great Falls and finally stopping again before travelling another 20 miles in to Havre, MT where our reservations were for the evening. Box Elder is a small town of about 200-300 people, as is my home town of Gildford, MT. So we stopped, to do a quick harvest and take a rest break.
When we walked in I asked the cashier if they had had any one turn in any of the Grand Opening chips.(Denominations are $1 & $5) See CG: http://www.themogh.org/cg_chip2.php?id=MTBENW The young lady said, let me check the vault. And to my suprise after a short wait she came back and said I only have 35 $1 GO’s and 7 $5 GO’s. How many do you want? Needless to say, I said I would like them all. This time I had no regrets about buying enough and never stopped smiling all the way back to California. (Where I lived at the time)
This was and still is my most favorite story of my harvesting stories. Loved it…Reggie

I WILL BE FEATURING ONE STATE PER PAGE OF THE DAY IN THE FUTURE. PLEASE, NO CHERRY PICKING REQUESTS, UNTIL I BREAK DOWN THE STATES INTO INDIVIDUAL CHIPS. IT WILL BE ONE TO TWO YEARS (2019-2020)BEFORE I BREAK ANY OF THE LARGER STATES AND WHEN I DO I WILL MAKE AN ANNOUNCEMENT.
A WORD ON WHAT APPEARS TO BE DUPLICATES ON THE PAGES. THESE ARE UV OR MOLD VARIATIONS. I AM NOT GOING TO PULL THESE OUT AT THIS TIME. SHOULD THIS BECOME A NEGOTIATING FACTOR AND THE BUYER ONLY WANTS JUST ONE CHIP AND THE UV’S AND MOLDS MATTER NOT, THEN I WILL REMOVE THEM AND ADJUST THE PRICE ACCORDINGLY.
FOLKS, MANY OF THESE CHIPS ARE ALIVE, AND STILL BEING USED ON THE TABLES TODAY. SHOULD YOU BE NEAR BY A CLUSTER OF CASINOS FROM ANY PARTICULAR STATE, YOU PROBABLY CAN COME OUT AHEAD. ALSO, PLEASE KNOW THAT I CONSTANTLY OVER THE LAST 12 YEARS UP GRADED. I BOUGHT ANY NEW CASINO ISSUES WHEN THEY COME OUT FROM THE LOCAL CHIPPER THAT OFFERED THEM FOR SALE ON THE CHIPBOARD. THANKS FOR TAKING A LOOK-SEE…REGGIE
