Jim has some great ideas - kinda makes me think about joining....and Scott wisely asks:" What do you view as impediments to folks becoming members, and what are your thoughts on removing or mitigating those impediments?"

As a non-member who finds this Board and casino chips/memorabilia interesting, I may be uniquely qualified to respond:

- Don't put a grumpy 'ol cantankerous jerk at the annual show sign-up desk and don't appoint a wishy-washy non-decisive nice old man as the show chairman. Oh well, that was last year and this year the grumpy 'ol cantankerous jerk will chair the show. What were you folks thinking?
- Use the annual show as a recruiting tool (free admission with new membership?)

Jeez, guess I'm not particularly motivated to join the ranks this illustrious group (which actually seems to have some great folks as members and in the leadership ranks). Too bad some of the leaders are just plain rank.
