I think you said something that a lot of us have over looked and that is the fact that when you look at an item you have a memory with it. When I look at a large part of my collection I remember the trip, the casino or something that happened during that time. When I collect, it is not just the item but a memory that goes with it.
When it comes to the younger generation, everything is online or an electronic device. I can say that I am in the 'younger' generation and my 14 year old son has started to enjoy my collection and looks through it now and then with lots of questions. To me, it will be more fun to go to a casino with him and actually collect his own chips and a chip show where he can really see a huge variety of things to collect. The sad part is that he will never never have the joy of hearing the tokens fall out of a machine, trying to gather them up in cups and waiting in line to see them counted up...I really miss that
