I am against Slabbing as are the many, many people who have signed the Anti-Slabbing list. Coins tarnish and get fingered up. Comics are brittle paper and every little crease/crinkle can drop them hundreds of dollars. Chips are meant to be handled by their very nature. They hold up well and are not easily damaged. They are fun to stack and play with. They feel good in your hand. A brass core feels different than a Paulson or a ChipCo or how about a ChipCo Linen finish chip. Slabbing common $1 and $5 chips makes no fiscal sense and Slabbing expensive high-end chips makes no sense as those are usually traded/sold/bought by the very experienced and educated of our group. I've seen common, fantasy, slabbed chips for sale that mislead and misrepresent as "rare" or "expensive" using terminology for condition that doesn't appear in any "Campiglia and Wells" or CHIPRACK book. Slabbing chips to hoodwink "investors" that know nothing about the hobby or chips makes no sense and will only lead to problems. Education is always best when investing. I wouldn't buy a stock without vetting the company and finding out about its financials, fiscal health and/or prospects. It sounds as if you are trying to formulate a plan to unload a lot of questionable goods to uninformed/suckers/buyers. Our hobby has pretty loudly said no to slabbing and I hope that it doesn't change.
