I'm one for keeping good tires on my vehicles. Traveling back and forth to Las Vegas several times a month, I'm always keeping an eye on them. Like many of us I only check out the donuts ... well rarely and only for pressure. Starting the new year right, I did just that ... added needed air to the donut 60 psi recommended. Looking at it I saw a bump/bubble had formed in the middle of the thread. Ah crap, let the air out. The tire separated see picture, I easily pulled out the loose thread. Although 15 years old and never removed or used this donut is no good. Trying to find a GOOD/NEW replacement is not easy and will cost me over $100.00 plus shipping, a valve stem and mounting. Time to check out your spare tire? Post your results, hope they are better than mine.
