I'm excited and proud to announce the release of the 2nd edition of "Illegal Gambling Clubs of Toledo; the Chips the Dice, the Places and Faces"
The new 2nd edition is heavily expanded and now 220 pages with 65 full color pages. It was quite to ordeal to adjust and tweak to get the new edition to a reasonable size. There were 120 new pages that were blended into the 146 page original edition. But by reducing some picture sizes and a tweak, tweak here and a tweak, tweak there I got it down to 220 pages.
Exciting new information: Now with 115 Illegal gambling clubs that have been identified and documented (the first edition had 72 clubs), with complete information on who ran the clubs, the locations, photographs and documentation.
Included are now five previously unknown Toledo chips and one token that have identified.
I have been lucky once again.... I have gained access to previously lost Lucas County Sheriff Department archived files on gambling club raids including Sheriff and deputy reports. Can you can JACKPOT!
During the past five years I have done many lectures and presentations to historical societies, libraries and universities. I have had many, many relatives of the club operators come to my lectures with photos in hand, and the new information flowed.
True to my word, I have once again kept the price of my books at a rock bottom price. ($25.95)
