Muckleshoot Indian Casino,
the state's largest casino, is expanding to more than
200,000 square feet.
The two-story, 66,000-square-foot addition will allow the
casino to offer 1,500 slot machines, the maximum number
allowed in a tribal casino under an agreement with the
state, said Phil Ziegler, the casino's marketing manager.
The extra space, which is scheduled to be completed by
late December, also will include a restaurant that would
seat more than 300 people and office space for the Tribal
Gaming Commission, he said.
Tribal officials declined to comment on the cost of the new
addition.
The casino nearly doubled its size with a $20 million
expansion last year. The casino added 81,000 square feet
of space and installed a flashy video sign.
