What follows is not chip related but I wanted to share with everybody.

My wife has been wearing eye glasses almost all her life since she was a 6 year old little girl. She wore contacts from when she was a teenager until she was in her late 20's & had a bad reaction to some eyedrops that were prescribed for her.

Last March, she started trying to get back into contacts as she was tired of glasses & her eyes had progressively gotten worse through the years to the point of being 20/1000 so the lenses were rather thick. Her optometrist tried several different types of contacts but none worked out so about a month ago she resigned herself to getting another pair of glasses. I told her that before she did that, she ought to talk to her doctor about Laser surgery, which we had talked about before but always dismissed as too expensive.

To make an already long story not so long, she had LASIK done yesterday afternoon (I watched through a window). She has gone from being "legally blind without her glasses", to reading the 20/20 line on the chart this morning (20/15 in her left eye!!) without correction. She had a little pain last night when she put eye drops in but today she can't even tell anything has been done except for a slight haze, which will go away after the healing process is complete.

I wanted to share this with everyone as I think it is miraculous what medical technology has done for my wife.
