"I don't begrudge them I saying that if you don't like it leave." Scott Blackburn
Running away from a problem never solved anything Scott. There will be injustices at just about every workplace. No workplace is perfect, nor is it utopia.... all can be improved .... except where Katie works!
Somebody has to stand up and try to resolve problems for the rest of the good guys. I guess you were the guy who did battle with your employer in your union representative position.
Just let me say Scott, that Atlantic City is an island about 4 miles long with a population of 38,000 people, many of them have no skills or transportation or may be on welfare. These relatively low paying casino jobs are all they have to go to. Where does one go to gain the necessary "experience" that other employers are insisting upon? There is no other industry in this town but gaming.... unless one wants to wash dishes in a go-go bar or restaurant. .10¢ an hour to the lowest paid workers is peanuts. I see so much waste in the casinos that could be deservedly given to employees in the form of a wage increase.
Glad to hear that you were eventually promoted to management, Scott. Sorry to learn that you represented so many of the "lazy" rank and file members that elected you to office.
