Definitely die-cut metal wafers. Very, very thin..

I will get betters scans/pics. The metal is very reflective, hence the darkness of the scans. Very bright and shiny, like the bright side of aluminum foil.

That would be an "overlay" and not an "inlay" ~~~
He's a couple more in that style.
