Canarsie Theatre, Bklyn, NY

Used to walk to the Canarsie Theatre for 25c Saturday admission. There was a candy store right next to the theater where you could stock up on red licorice ropes and other gourmet delicacies after which you got the popcorn and coke. On the walk there was hot dog vendor on the street where you could get a hot dog and bottle of coke for 25c.

Per a website: "A theater in Canarsie, Brooklyn on Avenue L; opened in 1927 with 1,470 seats. It was triplexed in 1980. Used to have normal hours, then reverted to odd ones. Very cramped. Closed in 2004."
