The Soboba shuttle van shows a rendition of their new resort so, when cashing in a TITO at a quiet moment this evening, I asked the cashier about it. The hotel is under construction, opening is set for sometime in 2018. He told me it would also have a pool (filled with Soboba Hot Springs water?) and a restaurant. I mentioned the hotel enlargements going on at Pechanga, Barona, Viejas and Sycuan, and he replied with a smile, "We gotta keep up!"
Decided to hang around for the 9 o'clock cash giveaway of $5000. Guadalupe's name was called. I was beside the "Winner's Circle" where the prize money would be awarded, and spoke to another Soboba employee there. I wondered if another person would be chosen if Guadalupe didn't show, and the lady replied, "Oh, she's in the casino. She will show up." Wanted to ask, "Hey, Girl, how you know that?" but held my tongue. And sure enough, in a minute, an elderly Latina walked up and the casino employee said to me, "That is Guadalupe." Wow, those Indians must be psychic! I mean, there must have been maybe 1,000 entries for the drawing, and she knew the winner beforehand by sight and name. But that's how contests go out there in Sobobaland.
I left the casino $150 wealthier thanks to jackpots on The Walking Dead (30 free games) and Moai slot games, the only two games I played.
Like I always say, if I'm boring you with all this, you can read it with your eyes closed.
