The ChipGuide established a Usage Policy to allow for the use of information and images from the website while protecting our ownership. If we did not protect our ownership, then anyone could claim ownership and prevent the ChipGuide from using the images or make us pay for their use. Many concerned collectors urged me to put a copyright notice watermark on our images. A watermark technique was researched and tested, but I hated the results, it makes the images look so ugly, so I never implemented it. All is well and good, but several times a year some individual is either too lazy or either thinks that they have some special privilege to use our images without giving credit to the Museum of Gaming History's ChipGuide. That is all we ask, you can use our images, just follow the Usage Policy and use the images appropriately, mention where you got the images from.
I can solve the problem by implementing watermarks, or we can continue the way that we are now and I just have deal with these individuals when they violate the Usage Policy. What do you think?
