Thanks for the reply. As Weston said, I was trying to point out eBay's use of 2 different ID's for the same bidder.

But I did find your post interesting, as I didn't realize how bidders could "fish" for your top bid by placing and retracting bids. As for bid timing, I know it's better to snipe, and I often do that if there's something that I REALLY want...and I think others will REALLY want, too. I thought the Lido ashtray was kind of neat, and we attended the Lido show years ago, so I placed a bid a couple of hours before the auction ended...just because I figured I'd forget to snipe...I'm happy that I won, but wouldn't have been upset if I hadn't.

Found this slot glass when we were in Las Vegas in April...
