Well, I was a little disappointed that I only got four entries when I asked people to get in on my little contest. I did this mostly to show off some of my solid gold gemstones in my card collection, but judging by the entries I got, there is still a lot of things people don't know about old slot cards. The correct order for the answers were...
G) Eagle Advantage Club - Silver Eagle - East Dubuque, IL - 9/5/94
A) Club Viva - Hacienda - Las Vegas, NV - 10/13/94
F) Treasure Seekers - Treasure Bay - Tunica, MS - 12/28/94
D) High Cotton Club - Cotton Club - Greenville, MS - 12/29/94
B) Jackpot Express Club - Jackpot Junction - Morton, MN - 6/30/95
I) Players Club Card - Golden Gates - Blackhawk, CO - 7/9/95
E) Players card - Alystra - Henderson, NV - 5/25/96
C) Goldpanners - Fort Randall Casino - Wagner, SD - 6/7/97
H) Sertus card - The Resort at Summerlin - Las Vegas, NV - 10/4/99
Pat Lamb, Rose Nitz, Dennis McCormack and Ed Barker each got one card in the right slot. Ouch. Ed and Rose each had one other card that was off by one spot, Dennis had a couple that were off by a spot and Pat was only off by one spot on four of the cards. But I was correct in putting the Fort Randall Goldpanners card in the contest -- the Lambs (who didn't have it in their Card Price Guide) had never seen it before. So I declare Pat Lamb the winner. I will be sending her a package of a dozen cards. The best part of the contest was when Jim Munding asked if I would sell my Cotton Club card. (Sorry Jim, there are cards I have for trade & sale, but these are my collection! You know how that works.) I was really impressed by the cards Jim had and was picking up at the convention last month. He had cards so old that the names on them were Fred Flintstone and Barney Rubble! But I hope you enjoyed a look at some rare treasures and in the future more material of interest to slot card collectors will be showing up here on the Chip Board. Thanks, Jerry in WI.
