Re: Modern day illegal clubs?
In Response To: Modern day illegal clubs? ()

Grady's Billiards in Colorado Springs had a full sized crap table that got quite a bit of action in the late 70's. Grady Matthews owned the place. The local police knew about the regular crap games, but didn't do anything about them, they were viewed as harmless. Grady did have to make a choice related to the gambling that went on in his place. He had a 3.2% liquor license. The cops told him to ax the gambling or give up the liquor license. He gave up the liquor license. A guy by the name of Charlie Shootman was the stick man at the crap table. How's that for name of someone working a stick? grin He's also a pretty good pool player. Grady never used chips, at least not to my knowledge.

There is currently an illegal club here dealing BJ for higher limits than are available in Cripple Creek. I don't know if they have their own chips, haven't been by the place yet. I might have to pay them a visit this weekend to find out if they are. If they aren't, I will most certainly suggest they have some made! grin
