John, each coin submitted for grading goes...
In Response To: Re: New Acquisitions ()

to a minimum of 3 graders, after which the lowest grade is awarded to the coin.

The person owning the coin might submit the coin to another major grader, taking a chance on getting a lower grade in which case the coin can not be put back into the original casing, so they have lost the higher grade.

Lesser grading services are not desirable by the true collector of graded coins or paper currency.
