Saw on the news last night that the iconic Vegas Vicky sign was coming down on Monday to make way for a new hotel/casino.
They didn't bother to mention that it was Bob Stupak who created it for his slot parlor, Glitter Gulch. I remember when it was put
up thinking it was kind of tacky. Bob was pretty smart tho paying $800,000 for the former topless bar and selling it for 2.2 million.
He even sold the sign separately to YESCO. The news story said it was not going to the Neon Museum.
By the way, there was a real Vegas Vicky. She was a cocktail waitress at the old Pioneer Club when they had live gaming. She was
really something to look at. Later on I saw her breaking in dealing at the old Golden (Elwell) Hotel which was where the Pioneer Club
trained its dealers. I remember they had dime craps and penny roulette. Lots of fun times then.
