That's an interesting comment and i wonder about the validity.

"Signing up people who have no desire to be in an association (i.e. never attend a convention, don't care about the magazine, etc) are not people we want in the club anyways. I think with expenses as they are, they'd probably end up costing money if all they did was pay dues and nothing more."

So since I don't pay $1000s to attend a convention on the other side of the country, I cost the Club money to be a member?
