That has been my experience too. I have recently found 5 new people interested in illegals (REALLY interested) and I tried convincing them till I was blue in face to join the club. Only one of them did!

There was one I actually offered to pay 100% of the dues (as a thanks for a big purchase) but they flat out refused saying they had no interest in joining a club. They just liked to collect.

The needs to find a way to make it work with the members we have and not worry so much that the hobby as a whole is dying because membership is declining. Signing up people who have no desire to be in an association (i.e. never attend a convention, don't care about the magazine, etc) are not people we want in the club anyways. I think with expenses as they are, they'd probably end up costing money if all they did was pay dues and nothing more.
