A letter from one of the license holders would sure help though.
Problem is, of course, that everyone wants every unknown chip to be from Nevada. Some clearly are (look, for example, at the research Gene Trimble and Larry Hollibaugh just did on the Reno Card Room). Too many, upon research, have turned out to be California or other venues.
In writing "The Chip Rack" and "The Gaming Table" we're mindful of the fact that the appearance of a chip in the book lends legitimacy to what might otherwise be rumor. We try to get as much data (as opposed to hearsay) as possible before we add previously-unknown chips.
