As many of you know, I am always looking to buy Binion's Horseshoe - Las Vegas Million Dollar Display items that I still need for my collection.
I have over 220 different pieces. I have just about all of the common stuff, and am missing just a few of the harder to find items.
If you have a table at the convention, or plan on attending, please look through your items and let me know if you have any for sale pertaining to the Million Dollar Display. If so, please e-mail me a scan and I will quickly reply if I need the item or not.
I'll be on the show floor Thursday, June 22nd at 9 a.m.
I have been asked several times "Why do you collect items from the Million Dollar Display?
My answer is two-fold. First, the Horseshoe has always had special meaning to me. It used to be my favorite casino to play in, and being a poker player, I have always enjoyed its rich history.
The second reason has to do with my beloved grandmother, who passed away on Thanksgiving day in 1995.
She taught me how to play cards and hosted several weekly card games at her house from the 1950's through the 1980's. Besides variations of poker, she used to love playing pan, spite and malice, gin, and blackjack. She loved Las Vegas as much as anyone I ever met. When she passed away, I was given a box of photos, and it included one taken of her at the Million Dollar Display, sometime in the late 1960's, or possibly early 1970's. That is what really gave me the idea to collect Million Dollar Display items, in her honor.
Thank you to all who have sold me items through the years and have shown interest in my collection..
