Got all my chips acquired at the 2001 CCGTCC convention and subsequent vacation travels cataloged a few days ago. Guess there was about 125 of the little guys that came home with me. Kind of a let down from the happy chaos of a mountain of unsorted chips on your desk. Back to the humdrum of life in the real world at home. Good news was that my Chapter 11 employer was bought up while I was gone… instead of a returning to a shuttered shop as may have happened. But anyway, got around to sorting the chips prior to slipping them into the binders and having the staff shelve them in the Chip Vault. I really like this hobby, handling the different chips, some of which I had almost forgotten about, reminding me what a great time I had. Here are four of my favorite chips from the whole deal. The Aladdin $100 was my 2nd choice for COTY and I quit playing 21 when I got $100 ahead Wed. night and colored up for this beauty. The Fireside Inn is the purple C&J edition rather than the dk. purple H&C. I stared at the H&C for a long time trying to make them hats shine but by golly, you just have to step up and buy the real thing! This completes the rack for me. The Blockhouse 50c chip has appeal to us regional collectors, a seldom seen chip that resides in some storage locker somewhere with a thousand four-bit companions at the moment. They’ll be along someday. The O’Conner is a hometown chip and it’s use as an ashtray is comment on illegal chips and their games, gonna keep this one for a long time.
