Apparently, the Las Vegas Tourism Bureau (or whatever they call themselves) does not, given the whole "What Happens in Vegas" advertising campaign. It's clear Las Vegas has used the shortened version many times.

So, why is this such a serious topic to you. BTW, I try to use the whole name. I am not baiting you, just have no idea why this would be so important to anyone.
