I do collect almost all gift cards but I don't want to be a pest by asking for special favors for all cards - so I'm limiting my pestering to just special Starbucks and McDonald's gift cards. The "standard" cards I can get locally, but it's the special ones that have cities or states listed on them or sports teams that I need help getting them. Starbucks puts out the "city" cards each year and usually have 4 different ones from California, and 1 each from other cities - i.e., New York City, Chicago, Washington DC, and Seattle where Starbucks is headquartered. In the past they have had cards for Orlando, Boston, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Portland, Denver, Houston, Dallas, Austin, Texas, Florida, etc., but they don't do those cities every year.

McDonald's currently has special cards for University of Oregon, Oregon State University, and Portland Timbers (soccer) which I am trying to find someone to help me get them. Each year McDonald's may have 1 or 2 NFL teams or other colleges and they had one for the Pittsburgh Penguins recently. A few years back, McDonald's had several NFL teams but not anymore.

Nordstrom has put out gift cards with different cities listed on them and they have been difficult to get.
