Re: Defining your collection for a new chipper

Ive been collecting on and off for about 10 years, and I still really haven't figured it out. I'm pretty locked in to Las Vegas chips, but for all the auctions, yard sales, estate sales, flea markets, antique stores and coin shops I go to, I still haven't found chips outside of buying them here or on Ebay or getting new chips on Vacation in Vegas. I'm still waiting to come across that "motherload". I doubt I have 500 chips, 5K is pretty impressive.

I have bought some 3 figure chips though, the one piece of advice I can give there, is make sure whoever is selling the "rare" chip isn't sitting on a few racks of them. I've had it happen to me twice. Its hard to know I suppose, and I'm sure there are guys here that can give better advice about that issue then me. Its never put me off the hobby though, I just figure I paid to learn not to do business with that individual in the future ....lesson learned. For the Record it wasn't anyone from here. grin grin grin
