My father played football for Erasmus Hall high school, located on Flatbush Ave in Brooklyn (about a mile south of where Ebbets Field used to be)

When my father was a senior, the quarterback of the team was a hot shot freshman (or sophmore) by the name of Sid Luckman.

A side, side note: Barbara Streisand and Neil Diamond both attended Erasmus Hall, a year apart.
