As many of you may know I was in the Hospital 3 weeks ago and was diagnosed with a TIA (with no damage to the brain). On Tuesday morning the 28th, I was not feeling well and called 911. They transported me again by ambulance to the Hospital where they did a follow-up MRI and discovered that I had a STROKE some time between March 8th and March 28th - the exact timing of the stroke could not be determined.
I spent my Birthday (March 29th) in the hospital for observation and testing, etc. It was ironic that I had been born in the very same Beebe Hospital in Lewes, DE on March 29, 1946 - what are the odds of this happening !! Luckily it was a mild stroke and did not severely affect my speech, cognitive abilities or physical performance. I did not have to have any sort of therapy, but once again they changed some of my meds. I will be following up with my family doctor and a neurologist. I also have to watch my diet and increase my physical activity -generally take a little better care of myself.
I fully expect to be at the Convention in June - not sure if I will be driving or flying - but I WILL be there !!
If anything else "crazy" happens I will let you know
Take care,
Jerry "See you at the Convention" Birl
