After first bid comes in you cannot change the

auction terms. That's the "law of auction" at least in California. Had there been NO bids on the 40c chip, you might have been able to add worldwide to the listing. There is a remedy which is to STOP the auction but it needs to be based on very good grounds - like your precious chip has just been run over by your lawnmower and ground to smithereens. Merely wanting more bids (more money) for it isn't such a reason. And I think all of us who are reading this will agree, people who stop their eBay auctions early and then go on to sell the item privately or in a future auction are fat, ugly, crummy, knave-like, evil RATS.
