Metformin is the Generic of Glucophage.

I think, but can't back this up yet, that the brand Glucophage is being/has been discontinued, based on what I found on a couple of pricing sites. My theory is that left only 1, or 2, or? manufacturers currently in production, with, by the size of the price increase, only 1 producing the Extended Release version.

I've not had the time to surf the net enough to find good info to put this theory to the test. Went to the Las Vegas Chip meeting tonight instead. A far better use of my time
