Back in the 70s Sharkey used to put on a free Serbian Christmas Feast for all the locals at his casino in Gardnerville.
I remember standing in a line that went all around the block. It was really something. There was an unbelievable
spread of food that included a roast pig with an apple in its mouth. Sharkey told me it cost him $10,000 to put it
on. Sharkey sure was a great guy. We had many conversations together. I sure miss him.
