I made the mistake of not buying one of the huge, wraparound Harolds Clup toppers that was embossed and high-relief. It had to have been one of the original ones as it was very thick and painted pot metal types... and the sad part is that the dealer was asking only $350 since it had a few small dings. Since, I've been looking high and low for one with no luck and had asked a few times here if anyone ever seen one, especially in a photo with both Harold and Pappy next to the old boarding camp car with the the bison's horns over the windshield and rows of silver dollars.
I sold most of my Mom's Harolds Club paper collection at two of our earler convetions, but I know I have more in storage somewhere. We spent the summer of '51 there and remember evey day of it as noted in several posts archived here.
I'd sure like to find that dealer and buy that licence plate frame. It was huge...!
