This is a Polaroid from my first trip to Las Vegas in 1981 . The Glitter Gulch and Golden Goose were still casinos...too bad I wasn't smart enough (or psychic enough?) to pick up a chip or two! I do vaguely remember going into the Golden Goose for a free keychain with my initials...and like Sassy Sally's, you had to wait around awhile to get it! (I don't remember if the Golden Goose had any table games when we were there...but I sure wish I had one of their chips!)

Funny thing is...in 1981 I wasn't impressed with downtown. We were staying on the Strip, and there were lots of big, beautiful casinos...the small downtown joints just couldn't compare! Now I love downtown (but I loved it more about 20-26 years ago!), and don't really care a lot if we go to the Strip, or not.
