Napoleon Bonaparte and the Bee

Actually, he adopted the Bee as a symbol, based on the Boneparte name.

Although the symbol of the honey bee does appear on some old chips, I don't think it's because of any particular connection with gambling. There are dozens of animals and insects that appear on antique chips.

The image in this string of posts looks to me like a lobster with wings grin . Not sure if that's what the designer intended but the larger part of the "animal" looks like a lobster.
