Hi John,
Back when Chequers was created and we had 3, 4 maybe 5 people listed (Greg, Marv, Neal, myself and a few others)....growth was slow.
The majority of collectors with computers frequented the large services, primarily Prodigy and CompuServe. There was very little crossover communication unless someone maintained accounts on both. Back then AOL was an also ran. Chequers was created to bridge that gap. And it did.
Cyberchippers began registering, trading, buying, selling and newbies joined the club too.
Now it 3 years, 500 members, almost 55,000 hits in the last 15 months (without heavy BBS activity) later. Chequers attracts a high percentage of new cyberchippers and exposes them to the cyberchipping community. There are over 110 sites that link to Chequers. It is doing a job and obviously Neal and I are proud of it....like one of the kids.
But we frequent Greg's board, read the posts, have some fun, make some trades and freak at Kelly's email.
The chipping community is all here. Just frequent and support the segments you enjoy the most.
Enjoy!
Marty
