This is worse than the "million-dollar helicopter rides" we talked about in business school ("sure, they're expensive - but you only need one customer to have a very good day!") This idea of temporary gains looks good on paper in the beginning, but eventually Las Vegas will learn that not all its visitors are there for hard-core gambling where losing an additional $10 to the parking lot is just gravy. They will eventually see that all the fees - resort fees, etc. - will add up to a decision to visit other cities instead, even if it means catching a show on Broadway, a sporting event in Los Angeles, a convention in Boston, or gambling closer to home.
