If I have the story right, on April 18, 1955 (the night before the Royal Nevada opened?), they invited all of the soldiers from the Atomic Test site for a special dinner.

Here's a menu from that dinner (don't know for sure that the plate is from that dinner...but the Royal Nevada wasn't open for very long, so it could have been)

And you know that back in the 1950's, there were plenty of ashtrays on the tables...
