I found my 3-piece color puzzle set.

I have 37 colors (all 3 sizes) of the 40-color BJ pieces shown in this color page from BJ.
The colors I am missing are: 36, 41 and 42.

In addition, Don's 42 piece set includes the following 2 colors NOT on the printed page, and not in my set either -- #28 and #35.

This BJ page, and my set, comes out of a 3-ring binder titled "Casino Equipment & Supplies / the Bud Jones Co." and gives their LV address and phone. The binder also has tabs showing info and pictures of their equipment/tables/supplies, divided into 10 tabs.

The last section is a price list -- dated MARCH 1984.
