A fellow dealer at the Antique store found this new treasure for my collection. It is a silver plated cigarette box commemorating the opening of the South Shore Room at Lake Tahoe from December 1959. Red Skelton was the first act at the new venue. I have an almost complete collection of the silver-on-glass items - missing only one plate. I'm not certain how these were given out but I think they might have been center pieces on the tables and a drawing at the end of the show awarded them to the person setting in the chair at each table matching the number drawn. At least that is what they did at a couple of the shows I attended back in the 1970's - but the prizes weren't so cool and I didn't win anyway.
