Bob ----- meaning no disparagement to you (or other Marlin fans, who have been screwed over worse than most by a sport that doesn't give a damn about its fans), the fact that the Marlins were able to buy the World Series last year and sell, trade or give away their ability to truly defend it this year are both examples of what is wrong with professional sports today.
I went to my first major league baseball game (at Ebbets Field in Brooklyn) in 1952. I have not been to a game since the 1994 strike and may well never go to another. After the strike of 1981, I was so angry that I did not go to a game again until 1986. This time, I'm not angry -- I just don't give a damn anymore.
